You are probably thinking I'm just another musician trying to make a mark out in the internet world, but I have a story just like everyone else. If you have time to read it, here is how it goes. I payed my dues by playing Country and Blues. I started playing guitar at the age of 11 and at fourteen I started playing the bass guitar because everyone else was playing rhythm and lead guitar, there weren't any bass players. That soon changed as I joined my cousins to play Rock 'n Roll and olde country. Those cousin's include but not limited to... Bill Schibel, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Mia Schibel Bill's daughter appears on Dave Bond's Real Country CD, Heart Over Mind. Luke Schibel, guitar, bass and drums. John Schibel, drums. Gene Schibel, steel guitar, his son - Doug Schibel, bass guitar and drums. You can see all of them playing in their respective bands. It is hard to find a local band that doesn't have a Schibel in it. Let us not forget Jon Janyszeski on steel guitar. The next stop was The Delaware Debris a 50's type band that included several local musicians. Jeff Kline a well known local guitarist, the late Jose Rivera, Eddie Wall locally renowned keyboardist and Larry DiSalvi of the later Duprees. The band played in the New Hope and Lambertville area for several years. Benj, Jeff, Eddie and Larry continue to perform locally. For the next 15 years I was an integral member of Jimmy Fry's "Real to Reel" country band. Bob Crossey drummer, Jimmy Fry, Jr, and Don Petrescu best country band in the area. Real to Reel continues to be a very popular country band and continues to play locally. As a member of The Toni Brown Band, I performed at The Jerry Bash 2004 and 2005 in Terra Alta WV. The band’s 2005 performance is in current release on the JamCam Chronicles DVD, featuring Tom Constantin of the Grateful Dead. I had a great time playing with good friends like Zeke Zafran, Craig Marowitz, and Steve Klein in the Big Johnson band. Always a hard rock'n time playing with Tom Frame and Don Martin and the Geezer Band. I was was one of the original members of the Mojo's along with Robin Kurkendahl, lead singer and Albert Snyder, super drummer. Robin has moved on to Florida and Al is playing once in awhile. The Mojo's evolved without a bass player and play in the Lambertville - Bucks County area. Today you can catch me playing with 519 South, Laurie Vosburg's Country Blues band. Once in awhile with John Danaher and Jimmy Fry's super Country Band, Real to Reel. You never know! My love for hard driving low end notes lead me to play original hard rock and roll which continues to be heard in my playing today. |
